Despite the Mayan calendar ending, the world did not. Personally, I am glad. I am enjoying my life and the adventure that it is. Perhaps this was an opportunity for us to take a real look at our lives and decide if that is how we want to continue to live. Are you happy? Are you following your dreams? Do you have enough connection?

I had a life changing incident in September six years ago. I took it as an opportunity to redesign my life. The neat thing is that anyone can do this. You are in control of your life and your happiness. It is that simple. You can design it anyway you want.

My sister Chanel took this photograph this morning as she went for a jog on the beach. I thought it was a powerful photo and that it symbolized my message today. A new day is dawning, lets take this as an opportunity to bring more joy and fulfillment into your life.

Here are three simple steps you can take today:

1. Write down what you are grateful for in your life. Starting here will help you connect to your heart.

2. Visualize and then write down what you want your life to have in it, be like and feel like. This will help you start to create it.

3. Make a commitment to yourself to do one thing towards your vision of your new life every day. Whether that is learning something new, being of service, or  letting bad habits go. These small steps will grow into big leaps down the road.

Yes, the world did not end, but it did give us something to think about.
