5 Tips to Cultivate Gratitude

[Tweet “Let us be grateful to the people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.―Marcel Proust”]

What you focus on in your life, you create more of it! If you take the time to focus on what you do have, what you are grateful for and the joy points in your day, you can create even more of it. When we focus on the lacking in our lives, we will see our lives through the lense of not enough and struggle. Cultivating gratitude brings more joy and happiness.

Starting your day with gratitudes and setting your intentions helps set the tone for the day you will have. Make it a point to notice what is around you in your environment that you are grateful for. Notice even the small things that you sometimes can take for granted. At the end of the day just before sleep, think of what you are grateful for that day. Then as you sleep, your subscience will have gratitudes to start your dreams with. Much better than going to sleep thinking about any problems you may have.

Having a gratitude practice is not magic and it will not all of a sudden make everything perfect. Yet it is a way to start to make the shift from lacking, struggle and angst into joy, abundance and happiness. It is all about perception. When you feel thankful, you feel more joy.
