Dear Reader,

Feeling Stuck. That is what a lot of my private coaching clients have told me these past few weeks, that they are feeling stuck. Not only that but unmotivated, lacking purpose and feeling overwhelmed and exhausted. Is it my coaching? No, it has a lot more to do with their thoughts, their environments and the change in seasons.

You don’t just wake up and feel stuck, there are things that have to happen to make you feel that way. Currently all my clients live in the USA where we have been focusing on the midterm elections. The political environment in the USA right now is so very toxic. So many advertisements, news stories and reports of angry politicians blasting their opponents in vicious and hateful ways. Even if you are like me and don’t watch a lot of news, you could not miss all of the energy around it.

On top of that we have had months of tragic gun violence events with heartbreaking deaths. Our country has been hit by huge unexpected storms and fires that have devastated whole towns.

Then the weather changed as summer turned into fall and in some places winter. Add the time change so that it gets dark sooner and you have a recipe for feeling stuck.

What we allow into our conscious minds effects our well being both mentally and physically. What we watch, read, talk about and hear. Then if we are not taking care of what we put into our bodies, how much rest we get, how we handle our stress levels and handle our spirit, it gets worse.

So if you are feeling stuck, look at what you are allowing in, who you are surrounding yourself with and how you are taking care of yourself.

Each of my clients that shared that they were feeling stuck where feeling that way for different reasons. One is in the military and is getting back to life after deployment and did not have a daily schedule so she felt unsatisfied about her days. Another just moved to the mountains in Colorado and was reacting to the cold snow, dark early nights and feeling alone. Another just went though a huge family crisis and things just quieted down. Another client was spending too much time on social media and reading all of the negative political drama that caused her anxiety to amp up and bring her down.

Each one had a reason that they were feeling stuck.  All of them no longer feel stuck now that they figured out where it started and made some changes. One took to journaling, another joined a meetup group to meet her neighbors, another started a daily planner and journal while another limited time on social media and signed up for a class she has been wanting to take.

So if you are feeling stuck, look and see what is causing it so you can change it.
