My lesson today was about the impact we have in the hearts of others. As a life coach I help my clients transform their lives and see mass growth and change while we work together. What I don’t see is the ripple effects I have had on their lives as time goes on.

So this message showed up twice today and I wanted to share it with you.

Two months ago, as I was knee deep in this project, I wanted to call a former business coach who helped me at the first of the year and let him know his impact on my life. Our schedules never met until this morning and I got to speak to him. I told him what he did that helped me, how he did it and what made him special to me. I wanted to thank him because the growth I had with him helped me stand where I am in my life now. The best part: he never saw it coming! He assumed I needed something and was willing to be of service. Instead he received something that he normally does not get. As a coach, we help people transform their lives. Most of the time our clients go on to have great lives and we don't really know the lasting impact of our work with them. It was indeed an honor to let him know the impact he had in my life in the short 3 months we worked together. Now my heart is full and I feel so great I was able to let him know. It is a true blessing to see how someone can make a positive impact on your life.

Later today, I went down to the homeless drop in center in San Rafael, CA to see my friend who is a case manager there. We use to work together. It is a neat place called Ritter House and they offer case management, food, shower, laundry and medical. It has been over 6 years since I worked with the mentally ill homeless. As we stood outside chatting, tons of my old clients came by to say hello. I was shocked they remembered my name and me. Some even remembered the things I use to do with them like take them to lunch or take walks with them, find them housing or other services. It blew my mind.

Again the message today really is that you don't really know the impact you make in another persons life so make sure it is a good one.
