We talk about spring cleaning as spring begins. Most people think it means that it is time to clean out the hall closet or cabinets. It does but it actually should be much more than that.

Spring is when the days get warmer and longer and the plants begin to bloom. Think of that one seed that was under ground all winter long. Then it begins to sprout and maneuver its way around rocks, roots and dirts as it pushes upward until it is above ground and touched by the sun where it then grows.

What does this have to do with you?

Just as that seed was comfortable deep in the dirt, we get comfortable in our routines and who we have in our lives. In fact, sometimes we become asleep in our lives just doing what we normally do day after day.

When you clean out your your closets and declutter, you not only feel better but you create room for new things.

When you clean up your routines and notice what is working for you and what is not working for you. Look at how you spend your time, who you spend time with and what you are doing. Are you following your plan, meeting your goals and following your dreams?

Do the people around you support you and raise you up or do they pull you down.

I think spring is the perfect time to take a look at all the pieces of your life. At the first of the year we make our goals, in spring take inventory of how things are working.

What changes do you want to make so that you are living the life you want to live?

Time goes by and sometimes we don’t even notice. We change with all of our different life experiences. Because of that, things that may have worked for you before no longer work for you now.

Take your personal inventory during this spring cleaning. Make the changes you desire.
