If you have ever been wounded in the past you might be ashamed of your scars or perhaps use them as an excuse to play small. So many times we stop ourselves from moving forward or trying again because of our past wounds. There are 5 simple steps to becoming stronger than your scars for you to follow so that you can remember how strong you are and start living life full out!

lifecoach-usa - stronger than our scars1. Never be ashamed of a scar or wound

Everyone has some type of wound, life lesson, disappointment or scar from the past. So you are not alone and most likely someone else has a very similar one.

2. We are no our pasts

You are not your past, it just helped to shape you into who you are today. You are no longer that same person that you were then.

3. Stop letting the past stop you from living today

Don’t let what has happened in the past stop you from living life full out. Just because it happened to you then does not mean it will happen again. Don’t use the past as an excuse not to live today.

4. You are stronger than you think

You made it through the past, learned new things and are indeed stronger than you think you are. Fear makes us doubt ourselves or feel weak.

5. You are stronger than what hurt you

When someone hurts you it is often because they are hurting or feeling weak and use your pain to feel better. So the fact that you made it past that shows you are stronger than them.

  • Hi Michelle,
I am from UBC and so nice to meet you. This is a great post and so so true. Too many people continue to hold on to their past and blaming others keeping them in a vicious cycle of anger, and regret. They can never more forward or create anything different because they still dwell in the old and they make no room for the new. Using our experiences to learn and grow is what it’s all about….not to stay in limbo and lower vibration thinking and feeling. We are our experiences and how we handle them. Experiences builds character if handled and looked at with love and gratitude. Being thankful for where we have been and learning not to go there again is something to be very thankful for.

Come and visit me some time Michelle.

  • What a motivational post. Thank you. In my case, I have visible scars from cancer surgery. I love your comment that we are stronger than our scars; whether visible or invisible. Great post. Thanks
