As a life coach, I am honored to hear these words quite often from my clients. I remind them of who they really are, what makes them special and unique and what strengths they have.
What makes me sad, is that so many are surprised by what I tell them I see. Some insist that that is who they use to be but no longer are. Others tell me that they wish they were what I said but it is impossible. Then there are those few, who tell me thank you for noticing.
When did we stop seeing our personal inner beauty, strength, character and what makes us special and unique?
When we start comparing our selves to others or using others for a measure of our self worth, we begin to diminish our inner light. Why would we want to be anything other than who we are, who we were meant to be and who we can be at our best?
What makes you great is inside of you. It is how you show up not only for yourself but for others in the world. Your perspective, choices and opinions matter. You matter.
A person is at their most beautiful self when they are confident in who they are. It springs out of their eyes when they share what they are passionate about and how big they can love.
My challenge to you is to look in the mirror and verbally, out loud, remind yourself of who you really are. You are in there, it is time to shine and come out!
Thanks for the encouraging words today. It’s time to shine 🙂

This is soooo me sometimes! I loved your post! I’ll subscribe! Thanks, Michelle.
Dani. 🙂
Thanks for your encouraging words! I love how God sees me :)! He alone defines who I am. I am a child of God/a princess (daughter of the King of kings), so loved and treasured by God, the Creator of the universe.
Nice post. It is sometimes hard to see ourselves. This makes it so when others see us we may not agree. One of the hardest things people do is accept a compliment. 🙂
Great article! Very inspiring, thanks for sharing!
That is one of the things I cherish the most in my work with fellow moms: helping them rediscover who they are as WOMEN! Too many moms lose their sense of self as they pour their heart and soul into raising their children, molding them, nurturing, loving, supporting… but when they take the time to reconnect with their own dreams and let their unique beauty shine through, motherhood becomes a magical journey for mother and child! God did create each and everyone of us to accomplish something unique and beautiful and we owe it to ourselves and to our loved ones to embrace that destiny and live it joyfully!
Thank you for reminding me of how life is so full of positive. i actually see the positive sides rather than the negative..
Hmm … you’d have a field day with me. I’ve actually love to have a session but I probably can’t afford you. I’ve been having difficulty finding myself as of late. Thank you for sharing what you do. I think that’s awesome! Peace.
How beautifully & with simplicity you explained this… Loved this post!!
What I treasure about you Michelle is how authentically you are in your honest self. It would be grand if we shared with others the joy they bring. Verbally expressing to those people an acknowledgement of their positive. Its similar to a hug or touch. How many have regular genuine hugs…
Comparing ourselves to others has got to be the leading cause of self-loathing. We see other’s success and think “I could never do that” without even trying.
Great post.
