For the past two months I have been blogging about the red carpet event I was going to attend in Hollywood at the Magic Castle. It was an amazing and life changing event! I have created some photo collages so that you can see what went into getting ready for the event and the event itself! This event was full of personal growth experts that came together for three days to share their expertise with one another. It was also the awards celebration for two books that I contributed to: “Ready, Aim, Captivate” and “Wounded, Survive, Thrive”.

When I returned from Cabo San Lucas to start getting ready to event, I attended my friend Tatiana’s birthday party. It was a huge four hour Russian feast! When I told her that I was contributing to these two books and that I was going to an an awards event at the Magic Castle for the books, her first question was “What are you going to wear?”  I told her it was formal and I had no idea. As fate had it organized, sitting down the very long dinner table was her friend, well known Russian Fashion Designer Vasily Vein. He had created some one of a kind ball gowns for her to wear to the San Francisco Opera and quickly agreed to create a dress for me! Just note that she became my translator for almost every single dress fitting I went to since I do not speak Russian!

I made his job very difficult because every time I went for a fitting I was a different size, a smaller size. When I returned from Cabo, I decided to take charge of my health and weight. So I changed my diet to one with no sugar, no gluten and no dairy. I immediately started to feel so much better. Then I added daily green juicing and exercise. Pretty soon I realized I wanted more support for my exercise piece so I called two of my dear friends that own Double Eagle Fitness in my hometown of Novato, California. They are highly trained fitness and nutrition experts. Samantha use to work for the CIA and met her husband Beqir in Iraq where they were both deployed. He was a Sergent in the Albanian Army. There love story is being chronicled in a book called “Love in Combat Boots”.

Now, I have a total gym, row machine and a pilates chair. I assumed they would use my equipment and routines and make sure I did it. That is not what happened. As you can see they have their own version of what exercise looks like. They were kind enough to come to me in my home to work me out. Every time they did, my cat Josie was very upset and was constantly trying to reassure me by licking me. Look closely and you will see her.

There is more!

So now I am exercising, eating healthy, daily green juicing and loosing weight! Many have asked for the green juice recipe, so here it is. I purchase all my supplies once a week and then make daily juice bags. This makes it easy in the morning when I am ready to juice. I grab one bag and put it all in the juicer. Then I add aloe vera and chlorophyll to the juice. Now, when I miss a juice my body craves it.

Green Juice

This is the end of part one of this blog about my journey to the red carpet! Part two is on its way!

  • First of all Michelle, you are so blessed to have the people in your life that you do. As you said…”As fate had it organized” … You are a magnet for your needs and solutions just come to you because of your inner beauty and honesty. One thing please, could you be more specific with your Green juicing? Like how much (3 stalks of celery, 1/2″ ginger)? I see your individual bags to create your juice for the day. (love the daily bags!) How much should it make? Do you add water? How many times and how much do you drink daily? I have checked other sites and it is all over the place with amounts. Thank you. Carol

    • Thank you Carol! I use a classic green juice recipe that has so many benefits for your body! Each ingredient has a specific reason it is included and together it makes for a powerful drink. Here is the recipe I use:
1/2 bunch of celery including the inner leaves
      1 green apple
1/2 english cucumber or 4 small mini english cucumbers
      1/2 bunch of parsley
      2 huge handfuls of kale
      3 huge handfuls of spinach
      1 inch of ginger

I juice all the ingredients, put in a glass and add 2 ounces of aloe vera juice and 2 tablespoons of chlorophyll, stir and drink right away. The juice begins to loose its nutrients as it sits, so don’t save it, drink it right away!
