I work hard to be conscious of my impact on others. In that vein I also make sure to let those people who are important to me know that I appreciate and love them. This comes in many ways. I send short emails, text messages or quick voice mails telling them that I am grateful for how they show up in my life. I speak from my heart and am vulnerable so that we can have a heart felt connection. It is important to me. I was thinking about this practice of mine a few months ago. I was wondering how this practice would impact new, important people in my life. Did they understand what I was doing or was it overwhelming to them? I lca-thumbs-upgot my answer a few days later when I was sent the most beautiful video I have ever seen by someone who jumped into my life in mid May. This person sent me a link to a video and asked me to watch it. I did, with tears rolling down.
my face. It was so beautiful and showed me that this person understood this practice and its impact on others but also on myself. http://youtu.be/3JpEHhhlOmo This video came out a few years ago, it is called Validation. It is a short film about a cheerful parking attendant that not only validates  parking tickets, but the lives of the customers. It is emotionally moving as he looses his smile along the way and struggles. It ends in a wonderful message about how we can impact others in simple and loving ways. I hope you enjoy the short film as much as I did.
