You are stronger than you think.
When things get tough in life, there is always someone who tells you it will be alright because you are stronger than you think. In that moment you might not believe that person or you might just want to walk away from them. How do they know it will be alright? Most of all, how do they even know how strong you are, much less, that you are stronger than you think?
Yet, if you look back to the times that you were challenged by life and thought about how you came through it, you might be surprised. The times where you did not think you could take any more, do any more or see an end in sight. Yet, you did.
Why? Because there is much more strength inside of you than you think there is. It is when we get caught up in fear that we forget that we are so much more powerful than we give ourselves credit for.
Take a look back to three times in your life where you felt you were defeated but you made it.
-Where did that strength come from?
-How did you push yourself through it?
So when you feel your back is up against a wall, remember that in the past you persevered and found an inner strength that you may not have been aware you had.
I’ve seen amazing strength in so many people – my best friend, who is battling her second cancer, my mother in law, who is battling her third, a co worker, and more. I can think back to a hard time when I was a preteen and my mother died suddenly. I think I made it through because I had to. I was too young, in a way, to make excuses – it was what it was.
Great advice! Especially leading into a new year, it’s always great to have reminders like this to fall back on!
thank you, interesting article. I can say that I’m not always strong, sometimes I give in to temptation 😉
